Therapy Assistant & Senior Pilates Instructor
Ruth has been involved in the health industry both in the UK and in Australia for over 19 years in various roles including: Fitness Manager, Specialist Community Health Care Worker and a Therapy Assistant.
She is a certified Pilates Instructor, Rehab Trainer and Therapy Assistant, specialising in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. She currently works at a local private hospital as a Therapy Assistant and at Oceanside Physio as a specialist Pilates Instructor and Therapy Assistant.
Ruth has worked with clients from all walks of life and has a special interest in Pilates as a form of rehabilitation. Through her working life she has developed a wealth of experience in a number of areas including:
- Chronic conditions – such as back pain, persistent injuries, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Scleroderma, Frozen Shoulder, Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis.
- Orthopaedic Rehabilitation – following hip or knee replacement
- Acute injuries – disc herniation, muscle strains and sprains
- Neurological therapy – including Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Peripheral Neuropathy

Ruth is an advocate of the benefits of Pilates and enjoys seeing the results it provides to clients. She continuously strives to develop her skills and as such is currently studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
When not running Pilates classes or working as a Therapy Assistant she loves to compete in triathlons and adventure racing but her main passion is endurance mountain bike racing where she competes in events nationally and across the state.Book now
