Lexi has over 13 years experience in the field of Physiotherapy and Pilates for Rehabilitation after completing her Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy with First Class Honours at The University of Queensland in 2010. Lexi’s Honours research involved retraining of the deep neck stabilising muscles in patients with neck pain. Her research has since been published in a leading Physiotherapy Journal.
Lexi then furthered her expertise in the field of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy working in private practice for many years, continuing to develop her keen interest in exercise therapy and blending this with her manual treatment skills.
Lexi’s passion for rehabilitation through movement continued to grow and she completed a number of courses through Dance Medicine Australia, Studio Pilates, the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, and in 2018 completed her Diploma in Studio and Rehabilitation Pilates through Polestar Pilates. Lexi then went on to work in a lead educator role delivering Pilates Certification and training to new Pilates teachers and Allied Health Professionals throughout South East Queensland.
Lexi’s interests include rehabilitation for all types of spinal and pelvic pain and women’s health. She is trained in the PD Warrior Program to assist those living with Parkinson’s Disease. Lexi also enjoys working with athletes on enhancing performance and injury prevention. She has worked with a number of professional teams and elite sports-people, including coordinating and running Pilates rehabilitation & performance sessions for both the Queensland Reds and the Brisbane Roar (Men’s and Women’s teams) in previous seasons.
Outside of work Lexi enjoys spending time with her family, getting to know the area, after her recent relocation to the Sunshine Coast.
