BSc(Hons) Physio, BSocSci, MMedSci, APAM
Director & Physiotherapist
Tamra has over 20-years experience in physiotherapy – working in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia. Having qualified as the top student in her year at the University of Wales in Cardiff with a Bachelor of Science degree with First-Class Honours in Physiotherapy. She followed that up with a Masters degree in Medical Science from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She also has an additional undergraduate degree in Social Science, having majored in Psychology and Legal Studies.
She then ran a highly-successful private practice in Durban, South Africa for over 15 years, offering hospital and clinic services, while also having an extensive medico-legal practice – making numerous court appearances as an expert witness in the field of physiotherapy.
“The nature of the medico-legal work meant I had to keep up to date with all aspects of physiotherapy – it was great for keeping me on my toes in having to provide clear and rational reasoning for treatment approaches and outcomes with an emphasis on cost effective practice”.
Although leaving behind a great following of loyal patients in South Africa, she has brought with her the same passion for delivering quality, patient-centred care to the Sunshine Coast by establishing Oceanside Physio.
She has also continued to keep up-to-date with the rapidly and progressively advancing world of physiotherapy, through numerous post-graduate courses and training sessions.
“I use my professional skills to help people overcome their pain or movement dysfunction and provide them with the tools, knowledge and confidence they require to manage their own condition and help prevent future exacerbations or injuries”.
When she is not in her newly-furnished, state-of-the-art Oceanside Physio clinic – she spends time with her partner and two children exploring and enjoying all the beautiful Sunshine Coast has to offer.
“We look forward to meeting and getting to know you and going the extra mile for you to achieve your goals”
